About us

Shane Carpenter was a remarkable individual who touched the lives of everyone he met. He passed away on July 24, 2022, in Tampa, FL at the young age of 27, leaving behind his beloved family. Shane is survived by his mother Sherry, father Craig, sister Heather, brothers Seth and Evan, grandparents Harry Carnahan, Mary Lou Carnahan, and Shirley Carpenter, his beloved aunt Tracy Anderson, cousin Morgan Beard, niece Claire, nephews Conner and Reid, as well as many wonderful friends and extended family.  

Shane was a passionate athlete who excelled in both wrestling and football. He played football for Gateway High School in the Pittsburgh area before moving to Florida, where he became a State Champion wrestler at Creekside High School in St. John’s Florida. He later coached and taught MMA and wrestling at Rickards High School, and was a winning Mixed Martial Arts fighter.  

Shane graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Editing and Media, and went on to work as a marketing writer at DigiCert. He was also a member of Phi Sigma Kappa and loved all his brothers.  Despite his many achievements, Shane will be remembered most for his kind heart, infectious spirit, and unwavering dedication to others. 

He was a true friend, counselor, warrior, and winner who cared deeply about his family, friends, and community. His larger-than-life personality and zest for life made him the life of the party, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.  The Shane Carpenter Foundation was established in Shane’s honor to continue his legacy of kindness and compassion. The foundation supports causes that were important to Shane and aims to make a positive impact on the world, just as Shane did during his time with us. Shane’s final act of caring was being an organ donor, and his selflessness continues to inspire others to make a difference in the lives of others.
